Foley Athletic Center
The Foley Athletic Center is a massive, 77,000 square-foot structure across the street from the Holleder Center and provides Army athletics teams with a state-of-the-art indoor practice facility and allows them to practice in a climate-controlled environment.
Namesakes - William Foley and Carol Foley
William Foley (USMA '67) and his wife, Carol, pledged $15 million towards the "Margin of Excellence" facility upgrade. It was the largest single donation in service academy history.
History
The Foley Athletic Center officially opened its doors at West Point to rave reviews from players, coaches, administrators and dignitaries in 2009. The facility houses a full 100-yard football playing field, along with full 10-yard end zones on each end. A five-yard buffer encircles the Field Turf playing surface that covers 130 yards in length. The Foley Athletic Center has provided a dry practice area for several of Army's teams including: football, men's and women's soccer, baseball, and softball.
