Army West Point Athletics
Playing just over 6,000 yards and to a par of 70, the West Point Golf Course tests shotmaking skills. One of the most scenic in the Northeast, the course is located just off of Route 9W between the Stoney Lonesome and Washington Gates of the U.S. Military Academy.
Namesake - Major Gen. Charles S. D'Orsa
In addition to the challenging course and brand new clubhouse in 2025, the Army West Point golf team also benefits from the D'Prsa Short Game Area. Donated in 2000 in memory of Major Gen. Charles S. D'Orsa, a 1932 West Point graduate, the short game area is used exclusively by the Black Knights and provides a training ground for chipping, putting, rough and sand work.
History
Designed by renowned architect Robert Trent Jones, the West Point Golf Course opened in 1946 and continues to play to rave reviews. A four-time host of the Patriot League Championships, the West Point Golf Course features a brand new large clubhouse that opened in the spring of 2025. It includeds a top-of-the-line pro shop, small restaurant, and plenty of dining space.
