Men's Tennis Loses To Marist in Regular-Season Finale

WEST POINT, N.Y. - Army men's tennis lost its final match of the regular season, 6-1, to Marist on Monday afternoon at West Point's Malek Courts. The Black Knights enter this weekend's Patriot League Championship with an 11-11 mark, including 6-0 in conference matches.
With the win, the Red Foxes improve to 13-3. Army's Hudson Valley rival has won three of the last four meetings between the two schools, while the Black Knights maintain the series advantage, 14-3.
Coming off their biggest win of the season on Saturday (4-3 over Navy), the Black Knights opened the match by getting swept for the doubles point. Landon Greene and Matt Himmelsbach defeated Army's sophomore duo Alex Holland and Gary Kushnirovic, 8-2, at No. 2. The loss halted a successful run by the pair who had entered the match winning four of their last five.
Freshman Henry Jang-Milsten earned Army's lone point on the afternoon, defeating Marcus von Nordheim, 4-6, 7-6(7-3), 10-7, in a hard-fought battle at No. 6 singles. The win marked Jang-Milsten's 12th of the season and ninth of the spring.
The Black Knights will use the rest of the week to prepare for Saturday's Patriot League semifinal match to be played at Lehigh. Army will face the winner of the No. 4 and No. 5 seeded match - Bucknell vs. Colgate - at 10 a.m., Saturday.
