Cadets Close Out California Weekend
March 11, 2018 | Women's Track and Field
WEST POINT, NY – The Army West Point women's track and field team finished a busy weekend in California at day two of the Ben Brown Invite, as well as the Occidental Distance Carnival.
At the Ben Brown Invitational, the team earned 193.5 points which was good for second place.
COACH'S QUOTES:
"Our purpose in coming out to California for spring break is to get in some good training and combine it with some early season competition," said head coach Mike Smith. "It is especially important for our relays and the long throws that they get some repetitions for those events that we don't do indoors. It was nice to finally see the hammer, discus, javelin people get to show what they can do."
"Across the board we had some strong opening marks from our men and women today and some huge personal improvements."
"We also had some nice marks on the track in all the events. We have a lot to work on for sure but we looked good today and the practice time we have coming up next week will set us up well for the rest of the season."
