Sullivan Leads Army to Third Place Finish

CAMBRIDGE, MA - The Army West Point women's rugby team opened up its spring 7s season Saturday with a third place finish at the Crimson 7s Tournament, hosted by Harvard University.
The Black Knights scored victories over AIC and Molloy in the pool stage, while falling to Dartmouth. The Cadets would face the host team in the semifinals, falling to the Crimson, 15-14.
Army took on Quinnipiac in the third place match, and battled the Bobcats in a back-and-forth affair, ultimately prevailing, 26-17 to wrap up the day.
ARMY HIGHLIGHTS AND GAME NOTES
- Junior Sam Sullivan led the way with nine tries for 45 points.
- Gio Ferguson-Lewis provided three tries of her own for 15 points.
- Freshman Alex DiMarco tallied two tries and three conversions for 16 points.
- Fellow plebe McKenzie Borchers had nine conversions for 18 points.
- The Army b-squad won first place in its division.
