Army Sweeps Holy Cross and Lafayette in Double Header

WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Army West Point men's tennis team went 2-0 on the day, defeating both Holy Cross and Lafayette in a doubleheader at Lichtenberg Tennis Center.
The Black Knights began the day by sweeping Holy Cross, by a score of 7-0. Army looked strong during doubles, taking down the Crusaders in all three slots. The duo of Thomas Lake and A.J. Woodman took down Slowinski and Kelleher 6-3, followed by Daniel Zhou and Jake Huarte who beat their competition by a score of 6-3. Nathan Jose and Paul Roberts capped it off on a high note, shutting out their opponent 6-0.
Army kept this momentum going into singles, as each Black Knight won their respective match. Huarte, Jose, Diego Huttepain, David Gorshein, Sam Kesti, and Samuel Haikal all came away with victories in just two sets.

The Black Knights continued to dominate, winning their second match of the day against Lafayette, winning by score of 5-0.
Gorshein and Haikal made a statement in doubles, shutting their opponent out 6-0. Huttepain and Samuel Eden won their slot 6-5, while Lake and Stanley Liu won 6-4.
Army won four of the six singles matches, while two were left unfinished. Huarte, Haikal, Roberts and Liu all beat their matchup in just two sets.
