Army Places 26 Cadet-Athletes on CSFL All-Academic Team

WEST POINT, N.Y. – After a successful 2022 season that saw the Army West Point sprint football team win the CSFL North Division and advance to the Collegiate Sprint Football League Championship, 26 cadet-athletes on the Army West Point Sprint football team have earned a spot on the All-Academic Team, announced on Wednesday.
The release comes after 14 athletes were selected to the CSFL All-League Team. This season, under the direction of Head Coach Mark West, the Black Knights went 6-2 (4-0 CSFL North), capturing their fifth-straight CSFL North title. Army's 26 athletes rank third in the league, following Navy (34) and Cornell (28).
Junior Alec Wells led Army with a cumulative GPA of 4.19 and is majoring in political science, with a focus in American politics. Wells anchored the offensive line for the Black Knights, helping Army to over 185 rushing yards per game.
Junior Ryan Connors is majoring in civil engineering and has a cumulative GPA of 3.91. Connors rushed for 319 yards on 52 attempts, had 3 touchdowns and 6 receptions for 87 yards.
Junior Mikal Willeke has a cumulative GPA of 3.88 and is majoring in systems engineering. Willeke had a career high of 325 passing yards in the contest against St. Thomas Aquinas. Willeke also went 134-213, had 16 touchdowns, and in 34 attempts rushed for 75 yards.
Gerald Moore is majoring in life sciences with honors and has a cumulative GPA of 3.86. This season Moore had 6 receptions for 107 yards and one touchdown; Moore also had 6 attempts for 95 yards in kick returns.
To be eligible for nomination in the CSFL All-Academic Team, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore, have a cumulative GPA of 3.20, and have competed in the 2022 season.
