WINTER PARK, Fla. - Army West Point women's tennis kicked off its Florida trip with a 4-0 sweep of Rollins College on Friday afternoon.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The action, as always, began on the doubles courts, where Coach Paul Peck rolled out the reigning Patriot League Doubles Team of the Year in Stephanie Dolehide and Caroline Vincent at the one singles spot. Dolehide and Vincent cruised to a 6-0 sweep and the plebe duo of Cooper Jackson and Paige Herremans followed suit with a sweep of their own at the two doubles spot. Sophie McKenzie and Paola Bou were leading 4-2 in their match at the three doubles position but did not need to finish as Army cliched the doubles point.
In singles play, the bottom of the ladder led the charge as Julia Kelly - six singles - defeated her opponent 7-6, 6-2 to give Army a 2-0 lead. Carolyn Ahn added the next point with her fourth straight win and a 7-5, 6-3 defeat of her opponent at three singles.
