Army’s Win Streak Snapped by Long Beach State

HONOLULU, Hawaii – For the first time in eight matches, the Army West Point women's tennis team suffered a loss as the team fell 4-0 to Long Beach State on Monday afternoon on the campus of the University of Hawaii.

Cooper Jackson and Paige Herremans were the only Black Knights (14-5) to pick up wins against the Beach (5-4, 3-0 Big West), doing so at the top doubles flight, but their win proved to be inconsequential as Long Beach State posted victories at both the second and third courts to secure the early point.

After collecting a 1-0 lead, Long Beach State continued to pick up wins and took home both No. 1 and No. 2 singles before sealing the match with a triumph on the fourth court. Both Julia Kelley and Jenna Sabile had won their opening sets at No. 4 and No. 5 singles, respectively, but they were unable to finish their matches.
