Women’s Tennis Falls To No. 44 Princeton In NCAA Tournament First Round

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The Army West Point women's tennis team was defeated by No. 44 Princeton in the 2022 NCAA Tournament First Round on Saturday morning. The Black Knights were making their 16th appearance in the NCAA Tournament and first since 2019.
The Black Knights held their own in the doubles point. At one point during the matches, the No. 3 duo of Sam DiMaio and Paola Bou led 3-1, and the No. 2 team of Cooper Jackson and Paige Herremans was tied at 3-3. After Princeton won in No. 1 doubles, the Tigers won the next three games in two doubles to win 6-3 and clinched the point.
In singles, Justine Dondonay won the first set of her match in five singles, 6-0. She trailed 4-2 in the second set when the match was clinched. The Tigers took the first set in the five other singles. Stephanie Dolehide took two games off the fourth-ranked player in the nation, Daria Frayman, in No. 1 singles. Princeton won in six, four, and three singles with its third and fourth singles players also ranked nationally to win the match 4-0.
