Men's Tennis Battles Air Force at Hidden Duals

USAF ACADEMY, COLO - Army West Point men's tennis competed against Air Force with three hidden duals across the weekend to close out the fall season.

The sides split the first match 3-3, while Air Force prevailed 4-2 in the second fixture before Army collected a 5-1 win on Sunday.

Beginning with the morning match on Friday, the teams split the doubles point as the duo of Samuel Haikal and Vishnu Bodavula defeated Air Force's Michael Choi and Kyle Garner 7-6 in a tiebreak.

Haikal continued his strong play, defeating the Falcon's Luke Wolf (7-6, 6-3) in his single matchup. Jake Huarte also tabbed a win for the Black Knights (6-3, 7-6), seeing the match end in a 3-3 draw.

In the second hidden dual on Friday, Bodavula and Haikal once again logged a victory in doubles, defeating Alex Fritzinger and Luke Wolf in a 6-2 scoreline. Haikal would continue his perfect day, logging the lone singles victory for Army over Kyle Garner (6-7, 6-4, 10-6). The Falcons took the second match by a score of 4-2.

Returning on Sunday for one final matchup, Army took both double points as Bodavula and Haikal won (7-5) on court one while Jake Huarte and Alan Ton logged a (7-6) tiebreak victory. Haikal then posted a (6-2, 6-2) win in singles, as Huarte also won in two sets (6-4, 6-1). Army was able to close out a 5-1 scoreline as Bodavula recorded a (7-5, 3-6, 10-7) win on court three for the Black Knights.
