Women's Basketball Win Streak Snapped, Fall to Bucknell At Home

West Point, NY —The Army West Point women's basketball team (8-13, 6-5 PL) saw its four-game win streak come to a halt on Saturday falling at home to Bucknell (9-13, 5-6), 60-50 at Christl Arena.
Bucknell's Isabella King matched her career-high scoring 19 points and Emma Shaffer grabbed 15 rebounds to propel the Bison to a road win.
Bucknell got off to a quick lead, 14-6 with Isabella King scoring seven quick points, connecting on a three-pointer. Reese Ericson propelled Army's offense early scoring seven first quarter points. Bucknell led after one 16-11.
In the second, Lauren Lithgow drained a three-pointer, bringing Army within four, 18-14.
Later in period, Ericson connected on a three-pointer as Army still trailed by four points, 25-21. Bucknell's Carroline Dingler made a jumper seconds before halftime, as Bucknell took a seven-point lead, 31-23 into the half. Ericson led all Army scorers with 12 first half points.
In the second half, Army went on a run in the third quarter, pulling within two after made baskets by Natalie Rhine and Ericson. At the 4:04 mark in the third, Army tied the game at 37-37 by way of a Sabria Hunter layup assisted by Ericson. The Black Knights took its first lead of the game a possession later on a Hunter layup from an assist from Ericson. Bucknell's Isabella King converted on a three-point play after drawing a foul by Sam McNaughton. Entering the fourth, Army led 43-42.
The Bison fought back and extended its lead to five, 49-44 on a made three from King at the 5:40 mark. Army struggled from the field in the fourth quarter, shooting just 3-16 from the field and only scoring seven points. Bucknell pulled away and hung on for a 60-50 victory over Army as they connected on foul shots late as Army tried to foul to prolong the game.
Ericson finished with 20 points, 9-18 shooting (.50%) with six rebound and two assists. Kam Hall was also in double figures with 13 points.
Isabela King scored 19 (5-9 shooting) and Tai Johnson had 12 to lead Bucknell scorers. Emma Shaffer cleaned up on the glass, bringing in 15 rebounds.
