Army Defeats Holy Cross in Conference Opener

WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Army women's tennis team (16-6, 1-0, PL) claimed a 4-0 victory over Holy Cross (3-5, 0-2, PL) at Lichtenberg Tennis Center Friday afternoon.
How it Happened
Army won the doubles point against the Crusaders. Army's Cooper Jackson and Maria Drobotova defeated Ahana Nagarkatti and Jasmine Rahman 6-1 in the No. 1 spot. In the second position, Julia Kelly and Jenna Sabile bested Hanna Beck and Caroline Carlson 6-0. In the third spot, Carolyn Ahn and Paulina Feoli defeated Elena Olsen and Meg Omelveny 6-2 in the No. 3 position.
In the singles matches, the Black Knights continued to dominate the court. In the No. 1 spot, freshman Maria Drobotova defeated Ahana Nagarkatti in two sets (6-1. 6-0).
McKinnley Smith competed against Holy Cross' Maddie Denucci in the fifth position. Smith bested Denucci, winning both sets 6-0, 6-1. In the No. 6 spot, Army's Paulina Feoli faced off against Caroline Carlson. Feoli defeated Carlson in two sets (6-0, 6-0).
