June 16, 2023 | Sprint Football
WEST POINT, NY – Army Sprint Football head coach Mark West announced the 2023 schedule on Friday afternoon.
"It's hard to believe football season is just around the corner," Coach West said. "Our cadet-athletes had a lot of fun this offseason. They are a hard-working group who care about each other. They are knocking out their military training now, and we all look forward to getting back on the football field in a couple of months."
The Black Knights will open their quest for a 37th CSFL title on the road at Mansfield on Sept. 23. Last season in its matchup with the Mounties, Army won 54-6 at Shea Stadium.
Army then has two consecutive home games. The Black Knights will host Penn on Sept. 29 at 7 p.m. and then the Star Series against Navy on Oct. 6 at 7 p.m.
They hit the road to Ithaca, NY the following week to take on Cornell at 7 p.m. Last season the Black Knights opened the season against the Big Red and won 72-0 where they totaled 530 yards of total offense and held Cornell to just 74 yards of total offense.
After that, Army returns home for its final regular season home game of the season when they host Saint Thomas Aquinas at 7 p.m. on Oct. 27. In their matchup last season, the Spartans were held to just 91 total yards of offense in Army's 53-9 win.
Army kicks off another two-game road trip to end the regular season. The Black Knights will head to West Virginia first to take on Alderson Broadus on Oct. 27 at 4 p.m. Then they'll head to Caldwell on Nov. 4 for the regular season finale at 1 p.m.
The CSFL Championship game will be hosted at Shea Stadium on Nov. 12 at 1 p.m. The last time the Black Knights hosted the CSFL Championship game was in 2017, where Army beat Penn 10-0.
