Women's Tennis Tops Georgetown as Part of 1-2 Weekend

Beginning the weekend against the Hoyas, Army got off to a fast start with a pair of quick doubles victory to claim the first point of the match. Cooper Jackson and Paige Herremans made at the flight one position with a 6-2 win while Jenna Sabile and Julia Kelly recorded a 6-1 victory on court two. Moving to singles, Emma Sy cruised to a (6-3, 6-0) victory on court five, while Kelly remained in fine form with a flight three (6-3, 6-4) win. Vennmukiil Mathivanan collected the pivotal fourth point to clinch the match with a (6-4, 6-2) win on court six. The win marked number 542 for head coach Paul Peck at the helm of the Black Knights, matched legendary hockey coach Jack Riley for the most all-time from a head coach at the Academy.
Returning on Saturday against Mercer, Sy recorded the lone victory for the Black Knights, with a (6-2, 6-1) flight three triumph. The Black Knights came out on Sunday against UMass with a big doubles point tiebreak clinch from Kelly and Sabile on flight two after Jackson and Herremans had registered a 6-4 win on flight ones. However, UMass was able to secure four singles wins to clinch the match, as Stacey Samonte picked up a second point for Army on court six (6-4, 6-3).
