Women's Rugby Claims Runner-Up Finish in Women's Premier Cup at CRC 7s

WASHINGTON, D.C. -Â Â Army West Point women's rugby wrapped up competition at the Collegiate Rugby Championships 7s with a runner-up finish in the Women's Premier Cup from Maryland SoccerPlex.
The Black Knights had advanced into the premier cup semifinals with wins over Northeastern and Notre Dame College during day one of the tournament.Â
Taking on American International College in the semifinals, the Black Knights prevailed by a score of 15-12 to advance into the Championship bout. Yesenia Morales and Alissa Eisenhart continued to pace Army offensively, each tabbing a try while Emma Gamboa notched her second try of the tournament. The win set up Army to take on a fellow NIRA-foe in Brown in the Championship.
The Bears were able to log pair of tries to go along with a conversion in the ensuing contest, while the Black Knights were only able to push across one try. Ellie Kearney got on the scoresheet with the score, as Brown eventually took the match by a score of 12-5.Â
Eisenhart and Morales each finished the tournament ranking fifth among all players with 20 total points.
