Lynch, Blackburn Tabbed for Patriot League Weekly Honors

BETHLEHEM, Pa. — Senior outside hitter Mackenzie Lynch and freshman middle blocker Corrine Blackburn received her first Patriot League weekly honor on Tuesday, being named Patriot League Player of the Week.
For the second straight week and fourth time in her career, Army West Point senior outside hitter Mackenzie Lynch was tabbed Patriot League Women's Volleyball Player of the Week after leading the Black Knights to a 2-0 weekend. This
Lynch totaled 29 kills on a .257 hitting percentage, 25 digs and eight blocks to lead Army West Point to a 2-0 weekend.
In a five-set comeback over Colgate, the senior recorded a double-double with 19 kills and 14 digs to go with five blocks. She added 10 kills on a season-high .455 hitting percentage in a sweep of Holy Cross.
The Asheville, N.C. native ranks third in the Patriot League in points per set (4.03) and fourth in kills per set (3.54).
Freshman middle blocker Corrine Blackburn earned Patriot League Women's Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week honors after totaling 13 blocks, including a career-high 12 against Colgate, to lead Army West Point to two wins.
Blackburn led Army's defense at the net during a 2-0 weekend as she finished with 13 blocks (1.63 per set) and 13 kills.
Lynch, Blackburn and the Black Knights are back in action on Saturday, October 31 at 6 p.m. ET, taking on the American University Eagles inside Gillis Field House.
