Louisa Diamond Named Patriot League Runner of the Week
October 07, 2025 | Women's Cross Country
BETHLEHEM, PA. – Following an impressive showing at the Paul Short Run this past weekend, Louisa Diamond was named the Patriot League Women's Runner of the Week, the conference announced on Tuesday morning.
Diamond, a junior from Naperville, Ill., led all Army runners with an impressive time of 20:22.8 to finished 25th in a field that boasted nearly 400 athletes. The time also marked a personal best for Diamond. She finished first among all Patriot League athletes who competed in the event. She helped lead the women's side to an 11th place finish in team scoring.
"Obviously, we're very pleased with how Louisa ran this weekend. It was a great race for her and a great all-time performance on the Lehigh course," said Director of Cross Country Mike Smith. "This is not a surprise given the way she's been training. She really has committed to being as good as she can be, and that was evident in practice a long time ago and there has been more follow through this season. The Paul Short Run was her first race of the season so as good as it was, I think she can continue to get better. That's very encouraging for her, but it's more encouraging for our team."
Up Next
Diamond and the rest of the cross country team returns to action this Saturday in Newark, N.J., as it takes part in the NJIT Invitational.
