Wrestling Completes Action at Journeyman Collegiate Classic

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Army West Point wrestling completed a productive day on the mats at the Journeyman Collegiate Classic at Freedom High School in Bethlehem, Pa.
The event doubled as a work day for Army's 27 wrestlers at the competition, with each getting at least three matches in the flighted, round robin-style setup.
And while the classic didn't feature traditional brackets or team scores, multiple Black Knights finished the afternoon recognized for success Sunday.
Three Black Knights walked away with a pool or flighted title.
Placed in Pool A of the 197 Green flight, Reid Schroeder walked his way to the flight final with a trio of bonus point wins in pool play, before knocking off Lehigh's Remy Brancato-Roed in the flight final, 18-5 by major decision.
Noah Tonsor defeated Navy's Leo Joseph 6-0 to win the 125 Tan flight, after a pair of bonus point wins in Pool B set him up in the flighted final.
Dakota Morris walked away with the 174 White flight title meanwhile, after advancing past Pool A with a pair of victories by decision, and defeating Penn's Liam Carlin 2-1 in the flight final with a decisive riding time point.
Devin Ryan (133 Tan), Mason Barvitskie (149 Green), Casper Stewart (157 Blue) and Gage LaPlante (174 Red) each finished second in their respective flight.
Army went a combined 73-36 across the event overall.
Next Up
Army returns home from the Journeyman for two consecutive home events. The inaugural Black Knight open is set for November 16, with the annual Black Knight Invite to follow November 23. Both events will commence at 10:00 a.m. from Christl Arena.
