Men's Tennis Takes Down Marquette to Split Weekend at Home

WEST POINT, NY - Army West Point men's tennis (3-3, 0-1 Patriot League) picked up a 4-1 victory over Marquette (0-8, 0-3 BIG EAST) while falling 4-2 to Georgetown (3-4, 1-1 BIG EAST) this past weekend from the Licthenberg Tennis Center.
Matching up with the Hoyas on Friday afternoon, Army got out to an early lead with the doubles point as Vishnu Bodavula and Jack Hanna won 6-3 on court one before a 6-4 victory on court three from Jackson Armistead and Daniel Choi.
Army fell behind 3-1 in singles, with Davis McDonald giving the Black Knights life with a triumph on court six, but the Hoyas were able to clinch their deciding fourth singles matchup soon after to tab the 4-2 victory.
Returning on Saturday to take on Marquette, Matías Feoli and Alan Ton cruised to a doubles win for Army with Choi and Michael Zhang clinching the doubles point (6-4) on court three.
McDonald continued his strong play at the number six position with a two-set victory, with Ton picking up a win in three sets at flight one for Army. With a 3-1 lead, Armistead completed his comeback on court two after dropping the first set, giving the Black Knights the win over the Golden Eagles.
