Men's Tennis Falls in Tightly Contested Patriot League Semifinal to Navy

LEWISBURG, PA - Army West Point men's tennis (13-8, 4-3 Patriot League) fell in a nailbiting 4-2 contest to top-seeded Navy (24-14, 8-0 Patriot League) in the Patriot League semifinals on Saturday morning from Bucknell University.
The match saw all six singles matches go to the third set, with the Midshipmen eventually clinching in a tiebreak on court two.
Navy took the doubles point early before moving to singles which saw a true battle at every flight. Jackson Armistead finished out first on court one, winning the first set 6-0 before a 6-2 triumph in the third set to even the score at 1-1.
With Navy then pulling out to a 3-1 advantage, Matías Feoli clutched up in the third set with a 6-4 win after dropping the second set in a tiebreak.
Jack Hanna led 3-1 in the third set at flight four, but his match was abandoned with Navy clinching its berth on Sunday with a third set tiebreak win at flight two.
