Nixon Tapped for Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – No. 5-ranked Army West Point men's lacrosse senior Ryan Nixon earned the nod for Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week on Monday after a standout performance against Colgate on Saturday.
Nixon, a long-stick midfielder for the Black Knights, helped hold down an Army defense that kept the Raiders scoreless in the first and third quarters while guiding Army to its seventh game this season with seven or fewer goals for its opponent.
A Broadlands, Va. native, Nixon led the game in both caused turnovers and ground balls with three and six respectively.
An offensive threat as well, Nixon added an assist to Jackson Eicher's third goal in the second quarter to make it 6-1 Army.
The Black Knights held the Raiders to just 20 shots on goal and helped force 20 turnovers from the home team.
