Women’s Soccer Welcomes Nine in the Class of 2029

WEST POINT, N.Y. - Army West Point Women's Soccer and head coach Tracy Chao welcomed the Class of 2029 to the program on Reception Day at the United States Military Academy on Monday.
The Black Knights welcomed nine newcomers from five states, with New York leading the way with four new members.
Last season, Army went 12-6-1 with two wins over Navy, including the largest margin of victory in the Star Series. Additionally, the Black Knights secured a victory over the Air Force Falcons in Colorado. The Black Knight will open the 2025 season with two road matches against Providence and Manhattan on August 14 and August 17, respectively.
Grace Burns/D/Cortlandt Manor, N.Y./UConn/Club: World Class ECNL
Grace Burns joins the Black Knights after beginning her collegiate career at UConn, where she appeared in eight matches and logged a season-high 34 minutes in an NCAA Sweet Sixteen game against Stanford. The defender played in a season-high 34 minutes in UConn's NCAA Sweet Sixteen Match against Stanford. Prior to her freshman season at UConn, Burns was a member of World Class (ECNL). Her club team was ranked within the top 10 in the country. At Albert Magnus High School, she was named the Rockland County Player of the Year and garnered All-State, All-County, All-Section, and All-League recognitions throughout her career. Her high school accolades began early with All-League First Team and All-Section Honorable Mention as a freshman, and she continued to earn higher distinctions each year, including League Player of the Year as a senior. Notably, she captained her high school team her senior year and competed internationally with the U20 Puerto Rican National Team in World Cup qualifiers. She is the daughter of Brian and Stephanie Burns.

Leila Castell/F/Shrewbury, N.J./Red Bank Regional/Club: Cedar Stars Monmouth GA
Leila Castell joins the Black Knights from the Garden State, after captaining Red Bank Regional High School and earning First Team All-B North Division and two-time All-Monmouth County Team honors. Off the field, Leila excelled academically as a National Honor Society member and active participant in the Key Club. She is the daughter of Ted Castell, a former collegiate soccer player at UConn and Scranton, and Renee Castell.

Ragon Francy/M/Jenks, Okla./Jenks/ Club: Tulsa Soccer Club ECNL
Ragon Francy comes to Army West Point from Jenks, Okla., where she was a three-time ECNL captain and was a 2024 ECNL Texas First Team All-Conference selection for Tulsa Soccer Club ECNL. The Oklahoma native, played in the 2024 Continental Tire ECNL National Selection Showcase Game. Over her seven years in the ECNL, Ragon earned recognition as a Top 100 recruit and was twice featured in Girls Soccer Network's Player Spotlight. Additionally, she was invited to the U-15 USYNT Regional ID Camp and listed as a 2023 U-17 PrepSoccer Player to Watch. She is the daughter of David Francy, who played collegiate soccer at Rhodes University and Northeastern State University, and Becki Murphy.

Cora Hassan/D/Ponte Verda, Fla./Ponte Verda/ Club: Jacksonville FC ECNL
Cora Hassan comes to the Banks of the Hudson from the Sunshine State. On the club side, she played for Jacksonville FC ECNL, where she served as a captain and helped lead her team to the ECNL Champions League Finals, consistently competing against the top talent nationwide. At Ponte Vedra high school, she was a team captain and was an honor roll student. Additionally, Hassan was a member of the National Honor Society and IT academy. She is the daughter of Sean and Ashley Hassan.

Sophia Henry/F/Springfield, Va./Lake Braddock/Club: Fairfax Virginia Union ECNL
Sophia Henry makes the trip up from Virginia to West Point, N.Y. She served as a team captain for Fairfax Virginia Union ECNL. A three-sport varsity letter winner (soccer, cross country, basketball), at Lake Braddock High School, Sophia earned First Team All-Region and All-District honors in soccer, leading her team to a regional championship and state playoff berth. Henry was a Governor's award recipient and was named an academic excellence student eight times. The forward served on the athletic council and was a member of the National and Math Honor Societies. She is the daughter of Joseph Henry and Cindy Fox.

Olivia Jungkunst/M/Farmingdale, N.Y./Kellenberg Memorial/Club: Long Island Soccer Club GA
A Long Island native, Olivia Jungkunst joins Army West Point from Kellenberg Memorial High School, where she was a two-time CHSAA League Champion and a Newsday Top 100 player, earning team MVP honors. Olivia competed with Long Island Soccer Club GA, serving as a 2023 and 2024 team representative and receiving invitations to the Northeast Talent ID Showcase as a standout performer. Furthermore, she received honors from Nassau County for her soccer performance. She is the daughter of Mark and Josephine Lalli-Jungkunst.

Ailyn Rowe/M/Marlton, N.J./Cherokee/USMAPS/ Club: Real Fútbol Academy GA
Ailyn Rowe comes to West Point, N.Y. from Marlton, N.J. In club play with Real Futbol Academy GA, she served as a team captain and GA Team Representative, capturing six state championships, two regional titles, and making two national appearances. She was twice named the captain of her Cherokee High School team and earned First Team All-Olympic Conference, First Team All-South Jersey and All East Regional Team accolades. She was ranked Top 20 in both the South Region and state of New Jersey. She is the daughter of Brian and Maggie Rowe, who played NCAA Division I soccer at UNC Charlotte.

Daisy West/D/M/Fort Montgomery, N.Y./William & Mary/ Club: World Class FC ECNL
A local talent from Fort Montgomery, New York, Daisy West transfers to Army West Point after a season at William & Mary, where she appeared in 14 matches. Prior to her freshman season, Daisy competed for World Class FC ECNL, where she was a team captain, two-time national semifinalist, and Second Team Northeast Region ECNL honoree. At James I. O'Neill High School, Daisy was a multi-sport standout, earning First, Second, and Third Team All-State honors in soccer, as well as four All-Section and All-Star Team selections. She was a senior captain in soccer, basketball, and lacrosse, while serving as a junior captain for both basketball and lacrosse. She also earned MVP honors in all three sports and the James I. O'Neill Best Female Athlete Award in 2024. On top of this, she was twice named All-Section selection in both basketball and lacrosse and was named to the All-Star Basketball Class on three occasions. Her father, Mark, played sprint football at Army West Point and is the head sprint football coach. Her mother, Holly, is a West Point Women's Soccer alumnus and her siblings Keegan and Lexi also played sprint football and lacrosse at West Point. Her brother, Kyle, is a junior on the sprint football team.

Megan Youngberg/D/M/Rockaway Beach, N.Y./Sacred Heart Academy/ Club: Long Island Soccer Club GA
Megan Youngberg comes from Long Island, N.Y. In club, she was a member of Long Island Soccer Club GA. At her high school, Megan competed in three sports (soccer, basketball and track) and earned 2024 NY Class AA All-State honors, was a 2023 NY State Champion, and was named to the Newsday Top 100 Soccer Players on Long Island. She received numerous awards for leadership and excellence, including the 2024–25 "Spartan Award," 2023 "Adaptability Award," and 2022 "Rising Spartan Award." The Rockaway Beach, N.Y., native was a Newsday Top 100 selection and was a member of the 2023 NY State Championship Team. In the 2024-25 season, she earned the "Spartan Award" for her leadership and excellence and was named team MVP and captain. She is the daughter of Jason and Kristin Youngberg.
