From the Desk of AD #31

Hello Army Fans,

I hope you're all enjoying the summer months. I'm writing from the Des Moines, Iowa airport, where our Army Athletics senior leadership team just wrapped up a productive visit to Ames. We spent time with Iowa State Athletics, learning from their best practices and gaining valuable insights on operational excellence, student-athlete support, and leadership development.

A highlight of the trip was connecting with Jamie Pollard, Iowa State's Director of Athletics for the past 20 years. I've long admired Jamie's leadership, and it was inspiring to see it in action. Iowa State's sustained success - often with fewer resources than their peers - is a testament to his vision and culture. I'm excited to bring many of those same values back to our team at Army.

Thank You, Department of Emergency Services (DES)!

A special shoutout to our partners at DES. Much of your work happens behind the scenes, but it has a powerful impact on our ability to operate safely and effectively every day. Your dedication to the safety of our cadet-athletes, staff, and fans never goes unnoticed.

As a small token of appreciation, we recently hosted a pizza luncheon to recognize their incredible service. It was a meaningful way to strengthen our connection and express our thanks.

I've started joining various departments for informal lunches - a simple way to stay connected, hear what's going on, and express my gratitude for all that you do. Over the past two weeks, I had the pleasure of sitting down with our ticketing team. These conversations are always a powerful reminder of the impact we have on and off the fields of friendly strife.

Cadet Visitation

Robyn and I hosted a brief ice cream social this past weekend - and as always, we came away inspired by the tremendous young men and women who choose to attend the United States Military Academy and commit to serving our country. Moments like these remind us why the mission matters so deeply.

American Conference Kickoff & A New Look

This week, we're proud to have Army Football represented at the American Conference Football Media Days in Charlotte. Coach Monken, along with team captains Kalib Fortner and Andon Thomas, will represent us with pride as the conference kicks off a bold new chapter.

The American also just unveiled a refreshed brand identity, along with a new rally cry: "Built to Rise."

Looking Ahead

It may still be July on the calendar, but things are moving at an August pace. Football is nearly here. Volleyball and soccer are ramping up. Our fall sports are preparing for another exciting season - and we can't wait to get going. Check out our composite schedule for all upcoming fall competitions.
