Track and Field Names 2025-26 Captains

WEST POINT, N.Y. – Army West Point Track and Field announced seven team captains for the 2025-26 season, Director of Track and Field/Cross Country Mike Smith announced on Friday afternoon.
Nathan Davis, Kasen Jeitz, Robby Manse and Canyon Hall will serve as the captains for the men's team. On the women's side the team captains are Claire Lewis, Zoe Whaley and Sara Sahadi.
"Army West Point Track and Field/Cross Country is proud to announce the leaders who will guide the Black Knights through the 2025–2026 season, both on and off the track," Smith said. "These cadet-athletes exemplify the grit, discipline and team-first mentality that define Army West Point Track & Field/Cross Country."
Davis, a distance runner from East Greenbush, N.Y., is coming off a remarkable junior season in which he set the program record in the 3000m steeplechase at the NCAA Outdoor Championships with a time of 8:37.62. The performance earned him 14th overall. Jeitz, a medium-distance runner from Centerville, Texas, recorded three second place finishes at the 2025 Patriot League Outdoor Championships and competed in the 800m at the NCAA Division I East First Round.
Manse, a native of Middletown, N.J., will represent the throwers. He won the hammer throw at the 2025 Patriot League Outdoor Championships with a throw of 64.03m, while also picking up a pair of second place finishes in the shot put and discus. During the indoor season, he claimed first place in the shot put and weight throw at the Patriot League Championships. Manse finished 25th in the hammer throw and 32nd in the shot put at the NCAA Division I East First Round.
Rounding out the men's captains is Hall, who hails from Wylie, Texas. Hall competes in a variety of events and picked up a third-place finish in the decathlon at the 2025 Patriot League Outdoor Championships with a personal-best score of 6,892 points.
On the women's team, Lewis, a native of Huntington Beach, Calif., is a decorated distance runner and is coming off a first-place finish in the 3000m steeplechase at the 2025 Patriot League Outdoor Championships. She was crucial in helping the Black Knights win the Patriot League Cross Country Championship.
Whaley, a jumper from Jacksonville, Fla., is coming off a remarkable 2025 campaign, winning both the indoor and outdoor Patriot League Championships. Whaley finished in the top 10 in all 11 meets she competed in.
Rounding out the women's captains is Sahadi, who has impressed in the throwing events throughout her entire West Point career. Hailing from Basking Ridge, N.J., Sahadi put together a number of podium performances, which included a third-place finish in the shot put with a personal-best mark of 14.81m at the Star Meet.
Lewis, Whaley and Sahadi played crucial roles in the women's team earning their first Patriot League Outdoor Championship in 16 years.
Army will kick off its cross country season in a dual against Maine on Aug. 29 in Orono.
