Women's Rugby Dominates LIU, 38-0
September 06, 2025 | Women's Rugby
WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Army West Point Women's Rugby team got in the win column for the first time this season, as play was suspended due to unsafe weather conditions with 13 minutes remaining in the first half and Army leading 38-0.
Even though the game was shortened, the win will still be registered as an official result by NIRA.
Army (1-1) came out on fire to open its home schedule, as the Black Knights were unstoppable on the offensive side of the field while seeing little to no action in their defensive zone.
Elena Andrade opened the scoring with her first try of the season just over seven minutes into action to give Army an early 5-0 lead. The Black Knights struck again six minutes later as senior Ellie Kearney extended the lead to 10-0.
Army's longest scoring drought lasted 6:39 before Gabbey Woenker scored her second try of the season to push the lead to 15-0. Alissa Eisenhart made the conversion to push the lead to 17-0. The scoring eruption continued for the Black Knights as Kearney scored again, while Tatiana Stockbower and Cecilia Ollis also finding the endzone.
After missing her first two conversion, Eisenhart was successful on her last four attempts. She is now 5-10 on the year.
