IRVING, Texas (October 19) – Army West Point football quarterback Cale Hellums has been named the American Conference Offensive Player of the Week for Week 7.
In Army's 56-24 win over FAU on Oct. 17, Hellums rushed for 195 yards and a program-record tying five rushing touchdowns.
Hellums also recorded his 10th career game on Saturday with two or more rushing touchdowns, and is just three games with multiple rushing touchdowns away from tying Bryson Daily's program record of 13.
The Tomball, Texas native has collected 719 rushing yards and 13 rushing touchdowns in 2026, with both of those figures being second-most among quarterbacks in FBS this year.
Earlier Monday, Hellums was named to the Davey O'Brien Great 8 for Week 7, and named to the Davey O'Brien Award Midseason Watchlist.
Hellums is the second Black Knight in as many weeks to earn Player of the Week accolades from the conference, after Dawson Jones won Special Teams Player of the Week for Week 6 after his game-winning field goal vs. Tulane.
