Swimming & Diving Earn Second at 2026 Patriot League Championships

ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Army West Point swimming & diving put up a historic four days of competition at Lejeune Hall in Annapolis at the 2026 Patriot League Championships. The Black Knights totaled 18 first place finishes with five national qualifiers including the first women's swimmers to qualify for the national meet in Army's Patriot League era.
DAY 1
The Black Knights kicked off the 2026 Patriot League Championships with a pair of wins for the women's team.
Army opened their time in Annapolis with a program, meet, and league record in the women's 200 medley relay as Angie McKane, Catriona Gilmore, Sydney Braeger, and Tiana Mescher combined for a 1:38.37 to win the event.
Army's men claimed third place in the men's 200 medley relay as Johnny Crush, Kohen Rankin, Daniel Verdolaga, and Ben Vorthmann clocked a 1:23.80 to touch the wall just 0.21 seconds after Navy's first place finish.
On the men's 3-meter board, Jack McDaniel earned a top five finish as he scored a 335.70 to finish fourth overall.
The Black Knights got right back to work in the women's 800 free relay as Jenna Hart, Elle Burke, Molly Webber, and Sydney Braeger logged a 7:13.83 to finish first overall.
Sam Reilly, Max Peterson, Thomas Hadji, and Max Jordan finished second overall in the men's 800 free relay with a 6:26.52.
DAY 2
The Black Knights returned to Lejeune Hall energized for the second day of competition and wasted no time in setting a strong tone for the day's events.
Molly Webber dominated the women's 500 free preliminaries and followed it up with a historic performance in the finals with a time of 4:42.07 to claim first place, set a new program record, league record, and meet record, and qualify for the 2026 NCAA Championships.
Joey Kling secured the top spot on the podium next for Army, clocking a 1:44.45 in the men's 200 IM to claim his third consecutive men's 200 IM championship title for the Black Knights.
Johnny Crush set a new program record in the men's 50 free preliminaries with a 19.42 to win his heat and advance to the final where he claimed second place with a 19.48 to clear Owen Harlow's former program record of 19.55 for the second time on Thursday.
Army wrapped up the day with back-to-back first place finishes in the 400 medley relay as Angie McKane, Catriona Gilmore, Sydney Braeger, and Molly Webber clocked a 3:34.27 for the women while Johnny Crush, Kohen Rankin, Maxwell Jordan, and Thomas Hadji clocked a 3:04.17 for the men.
Both squads set meet and Lejeune Hall records in the relays with additional program and Patriot League records for the women. Angie McKane's leadoff time of 52.53 in the leadoff leg of the women's race set a new program record for the women's 100 back.
DAY 3
Army's squad put the pedal to the metal on the third day of the 2026 Patriot League Championships with seven first place finishes in the day's final events.
Angie McKane set the bar high with a first place finish in the women's 100 fly to kick things off with a program record, meet record, Lejeune Hall record and NCAA Qualifying time of 51.34.
Kalvin Hahn earned the top spot on the podium in the men's 400 IM with a 3:47.66, his second champion title in the event.
Molly Webber earned her second individual champion title of the week with a 1:46.38 in the women's 200 free to secure her third consecutive title for the event.
Catriona Gilmore put on a strong showing in the women's 100 breast, clocking a 1:00.12 to tie Army's program record and punch her ticket to Atlanta.
A two-time competitor at the national meet, Kohen Rankin qualified as an individual in the men's 100 breast with a time of 51.69.
McKane returned to the water for the women's 100 back where she clocked a 52.83 to secure her second individual champion title of the day.
Men's 100 back standout Johnny Crush renewed his claim on the Patriot League Men's 100 Back Champion title as he clocked a 44.80 to set a new meet record and qualify for the national meet as an individual to close out the individual swimming events for day three in Annapolis.
After a break for the men's 1-meter diving competition in which Jack McDaniel earned fifth place with a 314.25, the quartet of McKane, Mescher, Cora Webber, and Molly Webber recorded a time of 1:30.76 to claim first place and set a new program record, Patriot League record, and meet record.
Army's men fought hard in the men's 200 free relay as Johnny Crush, Ben Vorthmann, Kohen Rankin, Thomas Hadji clocked a 1:16.96 to set a new program record and finish second overall.
Crush gave Army a strong opening to the relay with a time of 19.41 to set a new men's 50 free program record.
DAY 4
The Black Knights continued to set a fast pace on the final day of competition as Molly Webber earned first place in the women's 1650 free with a time of 16:31.72 to kick off the day with a win.
Angie McKane carried the momentum into the 100 free with a 48.85 to earn her third individual win of the day. Johnny Crush completed the 100 free sweep for the Black Knights as he clocked a 42.44 to set a new Lejeune Hall Record, claim the win, and clear the NCAA cut threshold.
Catriona Gilmore became the third swimmer from Army's women's team to qualify for the national meet as she clocked a 2:10.28 to win the women's 200 breast.
Army's women's 400 free relay team went to work to round out the Black Knights' performances at the Patriot League Championships a win as Angie McKane, Jenna Hart, Sydney Braeger, and Molly Webber combined for a 3:19.86 to win the event and secure Army's sweep of the women's relay events – led off by McKane's program record setting 48.84.
