Chernik and Duffy Earn Patriot League Weekly Awards

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – A pair of Army West Point women's lacrosse senior were named the Patriot League weekly award winners at their respective positions as announced by the conference on Monday afternoon. Brigid Duffy collected her third consecutive Patriot League Midfielder of the Week, while Sarah Chernik earned her first Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week
Duffy collected six goals, one assist and seven points against Bucknell to help the Black Knight to their third consecutive Patriot League victory and the third 3-0 start to conference play in program history. She led all scorers in goals and tied with Allison Reilly for the lead in points. She was a crucial component on both sides of the ball earning a career high seven caused turnovers and four draw controls. Chernik was a critical component in the draw circle for the Black Knights collected a career high 12 draw controls. As a team, Chernik helped Army to win the draw control battle 20 to 5 as a team. On the defensive side of the ball, she helped the Black Knights limit the Bucknell Bison to their second lowest goal total for the season.
