March 29, 2026 | Women's Rugby
FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Army West Point women's rugby team played in four matches on Saturday in the Sacred Heart 7s Tournament.
Army went 1-2-1, with its lone win coming over AIC. The Black Knights fielded just one team in the tournament, playing 15 players.
Army 15, AIC 5
It was the Chloe De Leon show to open Saturday's competition as the sophomore scrumhalf scored all three tries for the Black Knights. Each of the three scores came on the left side of the pitch and were scored in the opening half.
Army's defense held strong defensively in the win.
Army 7, Sacred Heart B 7
The Black Knights followed the strong opening with a gutsy effort against Sacred Heart. Freshman Leila Galarza recorded an impressive 50m try up the middle of the pitch to help Army earn a draw.
LIU 33, Army 12
In the semifinal match, Galarza and Zainab Ogunlola recorded both of Army's scores. However, the LIU offense proved to be too much to handle.
AIC 39, Army 0
Army and AIC faced off for a second time on Saturday, this time in the third place match. Army was unable to find the scoreboard.
