Track and Field Concludes IC4A/ECAC Championships

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Army track and field concluded the two-day IC4A/ECAC Championships on Sunday afternoon, as the men's team finished in sixth place and the women in ninth.
In total, the Black Knights had 28 top 10 finishes. Army's only first place finish came in the men's 110m hurdles, as Austin Hernandez posted a time of 14.42 to win the race.
Men's Recap
The Black Knights had a strong showing in the men's shot put, as Matthew Palchak finished in second place with a mark of 18.06m. Robby Manse finished in fourth place at 17.04m. Manse also shined in the hammer throw, finishing in third at 60.96m.
Jacob Bowersock continued Army's strong showing in the throwing events, finishing fifth in the discus with a distance of 49.28m.
In the pole vault, John Phelps finished ninth at 4.35m. Hayden Brace had a 10th place finish in the triple jump, hitting a mark of 13.93m.
Matthew Gorman recorded a runner-up finishing in the 10000m with a time of 31:30.57. In the 3000m, Eli Ahten recorded a personal-best time of 8:44.25 to finished in third.
In the 3000m steeplechase, Jess Joe Augustine (9:15.34) and Ivar Hokanson (9:19.60) finished in third and fourth.
Women's Recap
Much like the men's team, the women dominated throwing events on Saturday and Sunday. In the hammer throw, Kiana Emerson was second at 57.09m. Jordan Hecht finished just behind her in fifth place at 51.66m.
In the shot put, Hecht finished second with a throw of 15.83m. Lydia Oldenkamp was fifth with a personal-best mark of 14.00m. Carly Borgelt (13.68m) and Sara Sahadi (13.65m) finished in sixth and seventh.
Hecht also finished second in the discus at 45.56. Sahadi finished in sixth at 43.25m, while Oldenkamp and Emilia Labruyere rounded out the top 10.
Sophia Gimino was eighth in the javelin at 42.37m.
In the long jump, Joyce Philipe finished ninth at 5.71m. The distance is fifth in the Patriot League this season and 10th all-time at Army.
Saige Acosta posted a personal-best time of 57.90 to finish eighth in the 400m.

Army will travel to the Penn Relays next Thursday through Sunday in Philadelphia.
