Army Football Announces 2026 Team Captains
April 25, 2026 | Football
WEST POINT, N.Y. — Army West Point head coach Jeff Monken and the Black Knights football program have officially announced three team captains for the 2026 season. Rising seniors Stephen Nnadozie (Safety), Brady Small (Center), and Owen Walter (Long Snapper) were selected to lead the team.
"These men have earned the confidence of their teammates as captains of the 2026 Army Football team because of their outstanding character and commitment to excellence," said Monken. "They embody the values of Duty, Honor, Country, and are examples of service and professionalism to the Army Football Brotherhood and the Corps."
Meet the Captains
Stephen Nnadozie | Safety | Fort Worth, Texas
A veteran presence in the secondary, Nnadozie appeared in all 12 games in 2025, making two starts, including the Fenway Bowl, recording 23 total tackles (13 solo). His playmaking ability was a highlight of the season, as he accounted for an interception, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery.
Brady Small | Center | Mt. Ephraim, N.J.
Small is the cornerstone of the Black Knights' offensive front. A back-to-back First Team All-American Conference selection (2024, 2025), he has started every game of his collegiate career, a streak of 39 consecutive starts. Small was a key member of the 2024 offensive line unit that won the prestigious Joe Moore Award and enters his final season within striking distance of the program record for career starts (52).
Owen Walter | Long Snapper | Arlington Heights, Ill.
Walter makes program history as the first specialist ever to be named a team captain at Army. Serving as the primary long snapper for all punts and field goals since 2024, playing in 27 consecutive games during that time, Walter has been the model of reliability, never recording a botched snap in his collegiate career while totaling seven career tackles on punt coverage.
