Men’s Tennis Falls to NJIT

WEST POINT, N.Y. – Army West Point men's tennis dropped its midweek contest on Wednesday afternoon, falling to NJIT 4-1 at the Lichtenberg Tennis Center.
Army (15-8) got off to a rough start on Wednesday afternoon, as NJIT (13-2) had its way during doubles action, winning 6-3 at the No. 2 spot and 6-1 at the No. 1 spot to take the early 1-0 lead. The Black Knights were leading 3-2 in the third spot, with the match going unfinished.
In singles, Jackson Armistead quickly tied the match up at 1-1 with a strong 6-3, 6-2 win in the second singles spot to move to 9-5 in singles this spring. NJIT quickly answered with a 6-4, 6-3 win at No. 1 to move back ahead in the match.
The Black Knights weren't able to pull themselves back into the match, as NJIT won in the fifth and sixth spots to clinch the victory.
The remaining singles matches went unfinished.

Army is back in action this weekend with matches on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Prior to Saturday's match Army will recognize its senior class.
