Duffy Named Class of 2026 Honda Award for Lacrosse Finalist

WEST POINT, N.Y. – Army West Point women's lacrosse senior Brigid Duffy has been named a finalist for the Honda Award for Lacrosse as announced by by Chris Voelz, Executive Director of The Collegiate Women Sports Awards (CWSA) on Monday afternoon. Duffy is just the third Black Knight to be named a finalist in their respective sport and the third overall Patriot League student athlete and women's lacrosse player from the conference to earn the honor. Additionally, Duffy is the first service academy athlete to be named a finalist since 2020-21, when Mahala Norris of the United States Air Force academy was named a Honda Award finalist in Cross Country and the first women's lacrosse athlete from West Point to earn the prestigious honor.
Duffy now joins exclusive company with Ann Wycoff and Diana Willis as the only Honda Award Finalists in school history. Wycoff was named a finalist in 1987-88 and 1988-89 in Swimming & Diving, while Diana Willis was named a finalist in 1989-90 in Track & Field. Additionally, all three were named the Army Athletic Association Award winner in their respective senior seasons.
Duffy, the 2026 IWLCA Midfielder of the Year, finished the 2026 season with 77 goals; 31 assists and 108 points and lead the Black Knights in goals and ranks second the Patriot League. The midfielder recently broke the Patriot League All-Time Goal Record. She also ranks first in the conference in caused turnovers with 46 and ranks first in goals per game at 3.89. Nationally, she is the third highest active goal scorer in Division I lacrosse and one of three active players with 350+ points. The Queensbury, N.Y. native, ranks sixth in goals per game and fourth in shots per game. In total goals, Brigid Duffy ranks fourth in country and sixth in total points. Duffy was also recently named a Tewaaraton Top Five finalist and a USA Lacrosse First Team All-American. The midfielder was also named a Nike Lacrosse Media First Team All-American and the ECAC Offensive Player of the Year and All-ECAC. She was also named an IWLCA First Team All-American.
The lacrosse finalists were selected by a panel of experts and coaches from the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA). The Honda Sport award winner for lacrosse will be announced later this week after voting by administrators from over 1,000 NCAA member schools.
