Golf’s Sparks to Represent Army at the Jackson T. Stephens Cup

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Army West Point golfer junior Tyson Sparks has been selected to represent the Black Knights at the Jackson T. Stephens Cup, Sept. 14-16, at Fields Ranch East at PGA Frisco in Frisco, Texas.
Sparks will be the sixth Army golfer to participate in the tournament as Drew Jeffords went in 2025, Josh Kim in 2024 and John Heckel Jr. in 2023, Dragon Theam in 2022 and Tom Katsenes in 2021 at the inaugural year.
The tournament in its sixth year of existence in named in the honor of Jack Stephens. Jackson T. Stephens Cup tournament committee has extended invitations to individual players as part of its celebration of diversity of education, ethnicity and background. Individuals from four HBCUs (Florida A&M University, Howard University, Prairie View A&M University and Texas Southern University) and three United States Service Academies (United States Military Academy, United States Naval Academy and United States Air Force Academy) compete in the stroke-play portion of the competition.
The event will be played on Sept. 14 – 16 with two rounds and 36 holes to be played on Monday Sept. 14 and the final 18 holes to be played on Tuesday Sept. 15. The event will air on the Golf Channel on Monday, Sept. 14 from 4-7 p.m. and Tuesday, Sept. 15 from 3-6 p.m. Live Scoring and results can be found here.
