Major Stephen C. Reich Team Room
Army West Point Baseball’s Major Stephen C. Reich Team Room at Doubleday Field was recently renovated, thanks to the incredible generosity of our donors and alumni.
Maj. Reich was a standout Army pitcher and proud member of the Class of ‘93. He was killed in action in Afghanistan during Operation Red Wings. To honor their classmate, the Class of ‘93 made a $250,000 gift to the Baseball Team Endowment as part of their 25th year class reunion, leading to the team room being named in his memory.
“We are grateful for the tremendous support of the Army Baseball Family, and so many people stepped up to make this transformation possible,” said head coach Chris Tracz. “Our incredible Army Old Grads, family, and friends have provided an excellent space for our cadet-athletes to gather, grow, and bond. We are incredibly fortunate to have all our facilities as a baseball program, and the Maj. Stephen Reich Team Room is another example of our commitment to our current cadet-athletes. It is also a place to honor our past players and teams. The room's core reflects Maj. Stephen Reich’s life and the inspiration that feeds our program daily about the commitment to service, excellence, and each other.”
“The Maj. Reich room has been more than a room over the past four years. It’s been a home,” said team captain Coleson Titus, Class of 2025. “It’s a place for us to prepare for games but also grow closer together as a team. I want to thank the Reich family and donors for providing us a space to grow a brotherhood.”
The Army Baseball Family — made up of alumni, parents, and dedicated supporters — has generously contributed to the Baseball Team Fund over the past few years, helping make important renovations possible, including the newly renovated team room that honors Reich.
Featured in the team room are the names of all Army Baseball alumni who have played professional baseball, as well as the years of each league championship in program history, as well as numerous trophies to commemorate championships won.
This space serves as a powerful tribute to Reich’s legacy, ensuring that every player is reminded daily of his courage, character, and the ultimate sacrifice he made for our country.
We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who helped bring this meaningful project to life. Your support not only preserves Stephen Reich’s legacy, but also enhances the Division I experience for our cadet-athletes and empowers the next generation of Army Baseball.
