- Title:
- Director, Football Operations
Tony Chiaro enters his first season on the Army staff in 2026, serving as the program's Director of Football Operations. Chiaro was appointed to the role by head coach Jeff Monken and Chief of Staff Clayton Kendrick-Holmes in June 2026 to oversee the comprehensive daily logistical framework for the Black Knights.
In his role on the Banks of the Hudson, Chiaro manages team travel, roster logistics, compliance coordination, and handles the unique operational and structural demands of the football program at the United States Military Academy.
Chiaro arrived at West Point following a highly successful three-year tenure at Youngstown State University, where he most recently served as the Penguins' Chief of Staff and Assistant Athletic Director for Football Operations. At the FCS level, he spearheaded day-to-day logistics, which included coordinating high school recruiting events, managing transfer portal visits, and overseeing player-welfare logistics such as housing and student-athlete meal programs.
Chiaro's trajectory in sports administration began at his alma mater, where he worked as an undergraduate student assistant for the football staff. Upon graduating from Youngstown State in December 2022, he was immediately hired full-time as the Director of Player Development. His immediate organizational impact led to a swift promotion to Assistant Athletic Director for Football Operations in May 2025 before he was ultimately elevated to Chief of Staff.
