Women's Tennis Closes Out Middlebury Invite

MIDDLEBURY, VT – The Army West Point women's tennis team closed out action in the Middlebury Invite on Sunday afternoon as Rugile Valuniate earned a victory in singles action.

The Black Knights competed in singles action against Williams where Valuniate earned a 6-3, 2-6, 10-5 victory over Kori Nevuex.

Carolyn Pitman fell to Juli Raventos 6-4, 6-4, Allyson Hayley dropped a 6-2, 6-4 decision to Linda Shin, Kirby Enick fell to Mia Gancayco 6-0, 6-7 (2), 10-7, Genevieve McCormick fell to Alex Stone 6-0, 6-2 and Bridget Guenard dropped a 6-4, 7-6 (5) decision to Leah Bush.

The Black Knights will return to action next weekend when they travel to Bethlehem, Pa., for the Lehigh Invite for the final weekend of play before the ITA Regionals on Oct. 22-25, hosted by Dartmouth.
