Women’s Tennis Gears up for Patriot League Kickoff

WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Army West Point women's tennis team will take part in its final tune up before the ITA Regionals, competing in the Patriot League Kickoff this weekend from Bethlehem, Pa.
This will be the second consecutive weekend of action for the Black Knights who last competed in the Middlebury Invite.
At Middlebury, the Black Knights participated in a series of duals with Amherst, Williams and host Middlebury, in both doubles and singles action.
Rugile Valuniate led the way for Army, earning a 6-2, 6-3 win over Catherine Miller of Middlebury on day one and a 6-3, 2-6, 10-5 win over Kori Nevuex of Williams in the final day. In addition, Valuniate and Nancy Porter knocked off a duo from Amherst in day two doubles action.
Porter also captured a singles win, earning a 7-5, 7-5 decision over Molly Paradies of Middlebury and Bridget Guenard and Kirby Enick also capped off the weekend with a singles win.
As a group, Army earned four doubles victories over Amherst and Williams.
This will be the final weekend of competition for the Black Knights before they travel to Hanover, N.H., for the ITA Regionals, hosted by Dartmouth. The ITAs will mark the conclusion of the fall season for Army.
