Black Knights Defeat Quinnipiac, 5-2

WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Army men’s tennis team extended its winning streak to four matches with a 5-2 victory over Quinnipiac on Saturday at Lichtenberg Tennis Center.
The Black Knights improve their record to 4-3 on the season, while the Bobcats drop to 3-2.
Army swept doubles play for the second match in a row, thanks to victories from senior Alex Van Velzer and sophomore Sam Lampman (No. 1), junior Austin McCasin and sophomore Kyle Barnes (No. 2) and junior Harrison McCormick and sophomore Grant Riechmann (No. 3).
Lampman and Riechmann took victories in the first and second singles spots, respectively, with Lampman posting a 6-3, 6-1 win over Quinnipiac sophomore Kei Ezaka and Riechmann winning, 6-3, 6-3, against junior Jonas Kuwert.
Junior Caison Best and freshman Michael Sienko also registered singles wins for Army, as Best won in three sets (6-2, 2-6, 6-1) over senior Eric Ambrosio at No. 3 and Sienko topped freshman Willem van Biezen, 6-2, 6-4, at No. 6.
Army is back in action on Sunday when it hosts Sacred Heart (11 a.m.) and Rider (3 p.m.).
