Wrestling Tours Golden State for Weekend

WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Army West Point wrestling team travels to California for a dual against Cal Poly and the Roadrunner Open, hosted by CSU Bakersfield, this weekend.

The dual against Cal Poly will take place Friday at 4 p.m. ET in the Union Plaza on the Mustangs' campus. Sunday's tournament will be held at Clovis High School and is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. ET.

• The Black Knights will compete in their first road dual of the 2016-17 by taking on the Mustangs for the first time since 1972-73.
• Four Cadets are at .500 in dual meets, led by senior 157-pounder Russ Parsons, who earned a technical fall against Drexel's Mike Comunale.
• Parsons ranks tied for second on the team in overall wins with six, behind freshman Cael McCormick who has nine.
• Last time out, senior Samson Imonode earned his 50th-career victory with an 8-3 decision over Alex DeCiantis of Drexel, while rookie Ben Harvey earned the first dual victory of his career in a 2-0 decision over Nick Elmer.

• The Mustangs are 2-0 against Army all-time. Â
• After starting the season 2-0, Cal Poly has dropped three of its last four duals, falling to Stanford, Northwestern and Rutgers.
• Senior Colt Shorts is tied for the team lead in victories with four, all of which have come in duals.
• Joshy Cortez, Spencer Empey, Yoshito Funakoshi, J.T. Goodwon and Shorts have all competed in every dual meet for Cal Poly.
