Women’s Rugby Hosts NIRA Championships on Saturday

WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Army West Point women's rugby team will host the National Intercollegiate Rugby Association Championships to crown an NCAA champion from Anderson Rugby Contest on Saturday, April 30.
The eight team pool includes AIC, Brown, Dartmouth, Harvard, Norwich, Navy and West Chester. The first match will kick off at 10 a.m. with the finals scheduled for 5 p.m.
The field has been split into two pools. Pool A consists of AIC, Brown, Norwich and West Chester, while Pool B includes Army, Navy, Dartmouth and Harvard. The tournament will be played as a round-robin, where each team will play the other three teams in their pool once. From there, the teams will be ranked in their respective pools, first through fourth, with the top seeds facing the No. 2 from the opposite pool and the third and fourth seeds battling for a spot in the semifinals.
Army comes into the final tournament of the 7s season with an 11-6-1 record including a pair of runner-up finishes from West Chester and Bowdoin. Army's leading scorer this spring has been senior Lindy Clark, who has totaled 63 points through the first four tournaments.
