"Briyah made it here last year and she is better this year than she was a year ago," said Army Director of Track and Field and Cross Country Mike Smith. "She has been consistent all year and our hope is that she competes like she has this spring and then we shall see where that places her."
The Top 48 ranked athletes in 38 individual events as well as four relay competitions participate with the top 12 performers in each event advance to the NCAA Championships on June 8-11 in Eugene, Ore. The Women's Shot Put will begin on Saturday, May 28 at 3:30 p.m.
Brown is seeded 41st for the event after 15.15 meter-best throw at the Bison Outdoor Classic. That mark is also the Academy record which topped her own school record mark.
"Our people are pretty good competitors," said Smith. "Our effort and execution is the only thing we can control so we will see if our best is good enough. If it isn't, then we all know that we have to get better."
