HOW IT HAPPENED
- Katalinic put the Black Knights up just 2:29 into the contest following a great pass from Shea. The senior one-timed the pass, chipping Crusaders goalie Brooke Holle by placing the ball into the left-hand corner of the net.
- The Crusaders knotted the score at 1-1 just 45 seconds into the second half after Emily George finished off a rebounded shot. Cassalia made a brilliant save on a shot from Christina Napolitano but couldn't fall on the rebound fast enough as George was right there to put it away.
- After neither team was able to score the go-ahead tally in regulation, the game was forced into overtime.
- Shea nearly ended it with five minutes remaining in the first extra period when she ripped a shot from the top of the box just over the crossbar.
- Back-to-back shots from Nicholas and Sullenger late in the second overtime gave the Crusaders a scare but each time Holy Cross was able to defend, ultimately ending the game in a draw.
