WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Army West Point women's soccer team ran into a tough DePaul squad here Sunday afternoon in its final game of the Black Knight's Fall Classic.

With both teams vying for their first win of the season, the Blue Demons scored two quick goals and added three more late in the match to take the 5-0 victory.

Clare Shea, one of Army's central playmakers, led the team with two shots. Jordan Cassalia was also solid between the posts, despite the outcome. She compiled seven stops, shifting her season mark to 29.

Army and DePaul played a pretty even match until the final 15 minutes when the Blue Demon's experience took over. The Black Knights youthful, yet determined, team tried to find a rally but DePaul held strong to secure the win.

ARMY HIGHLIGHTS AND GAME NOTES

DePaul now holds a 2-0 edge on the all-time series.
Army was without five of its normal starters during Sunday's game.
The Blue Demons earned a 17-5 advantage on shots, with 13 of those coming in the second half.
Two of Army's five shots were from the foot of Shea. Samantha Sullenger, Nicole Bautista and Madison McGinn also posted shots in the contest.
Shae had a great look for the Black Knights with 11 minutes remaining in the opening period. Unfortunately, her attempted sailed just high over the crossbar.
Two minutes into the second half, Cassalia kept it a 2-0 deficit when she stopped a point-blank shot from DePaul's Kelli Hubly.

KEY MOMENT

Cassalia again came up huge for Army when she took away a breakaway opportunity from Abby Reed. The senior found some breathing room and dribbled toward goal. Cassalia stood her ground though and made a brilliant kick save on a well-driven shot from the Rockford, Ill., native, which kept the Black Knights in the game.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Blue Demons broke the deadlock just 8:38 into the contest when Franny Cerny and Alexa Ben converted on a give-and-go. After working their way into the box, Cerny cut back away from the Army defense and fired a hard shot low, just past the arms of Cassalia.
Madeline Frick made it a 2-0 visitor's lead when she collected and finished off a bouncing ball following a DePaul corner kick.
In the 78th minute, Ana Greik scored her first of three goals after another Blue Demons corner kick. Lucy Edwards picked up the loose ball and sent it back into the box. Greik was waiting on the back post, where she touched it home for the 3-0 edge.
DePaul then saw Greik score two more unanswered goals, to hand her team a comfortable advantage.
