Black Knights Score Wins Versus Colgate/Lafayette

WEST POINT, N.Y. - The Army West Point men's swimming and diving team defeated Colgate and Lafayette in a tri-meet on Monday afternoon.

The Black Knights won by scores of 181-108 over the Raiders, and 188-81 over the Leopards, to improve to 5-3 (4-1, Patriot League) on the season.

It was a good day for us," said head coach Mickey Wender. "I thought we swam really well, and were able to get people into races that they normally wouldn't be in, which was great. We have a few, tough meets left before the conference championships, and the best is yet to come."

Army remains home for another tri-meet, this time against Boston University and George Mason University, on Jan. 21. The meet is scheduled to begin at 12 p.m.

MEET HIGHLIGHTS
- The 200-yard medley relay team of Josh Sembrano, Joseph Daniels, Jason Rodriguez and Evin Rude won with a time of 1:32.35.
- Sembrano and Rude placed 1-2 in the 100-yard backstroke with respective times of 49.60 seconds and 50.02 seconds.
- Devin McCall touched the wall first in the 1000-yard freestyle with a mark of 9:55.19, besting the competition by over eight seconds.
- Clay Harmon took home the top spot in the 200-yard freestyle after touching the wall in 1:46.42.
- Army swept the top four spots in the 100-yard breaststroke with Joeseph Daniels (1st – 56.98 seconds), Brady Almand (2nd – 59.24 seconds, Neon Stern (3rd – 1:00.76) and Pat Wall (4th – 1:01.50) out-swimming the competition.
- Brandon McCredie posted a first-place finish in the 50-yard freestyle in 21.15 seconds.
- Andrew Zhugayevich touched the wall first in the 100-yard freestyle in a time of 46.91 seconds.
