Army Returns to Action at American Duals

WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Army West Point wrestling team returns to action after not competing for over a month on Friday at the American Duals in Washington, D.C.
The Black Knights will start off against North Carolina at 3 p.m. before taking on the host American at 5 p.m. They close out the day against No. 23 Wyoming at 7 p.m.
Army's last competition was the Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational on Dec. 2-3, where it placed 18th and had two wrestlers make it to the podium with seniors Logan Everett (141 lbs.) and Samson Imonode (184 lbs.). Everett posted a 4-2 record and closed out the tournament with a fall over Northern Colorado's Timmy Box in the fifth-place bout. Imonode compiled four wins in seven matches at Cliff Keen, notching a major decision on the first day and placing eighth.

American University charges for visitor parking in its garages before 5 p.m. Fans planning to arrive before 5 p.m. should use the visitor pay system at the Katzen Arts Center garage. ARMY (1-2, 0-1 EIWA)
• Army will compete in its first dual tournament since last season's Northeast Duals on Nov. 15.
• This will be head coach Kevin Ward's first time facing American, with the last meeting coming in 2013-14.
• Freshman Cael McCormick has won a team-high 19 matches.
• Junior Jack Wedholm has recorded a team-best 11 bonus point victories on one fall, four tech. falls and a team-high six major decisions.
• Seniors Logan Everett, Russ Parsons and Samson Imonode sport 2-1 records in duals this season.
• Everett has gone 5-1 in his career against UNC, American and Wyoming, including upsetting then fifth-ranked Joey Ward, 7-4, at the Southeast Open.
• Everett will have his hands full on Friday in the deepest weight class among the four teams at 141 lbs. as he will face All-Americans Joey Ward, who finished eighth at last year's NCAA Championships, and Bryce Meredith, who was the national runner-up.
• Imonode and Andrew Mendel are each 4-1 in their careers versus the Tar Heels, Eagles and Cowboys, with Mendel going 2-1 against ranked opponents.
