Army Splits Tri-Match at Home
November 10, 2017 | Rifle
WEST POINT, N.Y. – The No. 11 Army West Point rifle team beat No. 30 MIT, but lost in a tough match to No. 14 Nevada-Reno on Friday afternoon.
"This was a pretty good performance," said head coach Web Wright. "UNR edged us out, but we shot our highest score of the season thus far. It also gives us a good score to put towards NCAA Championship selection."
"We had three smallbore scores in the 580's, which is an improvement over the last couple of matches, and our air rifle scores were pretty solid."
"We have a week to reinforce our strengths and work on our shortcomings before we meet No.2 TCU on Saturday. We will hit it pretty hard for this last match of the semester."
AGGREGATE (4665)
SMALLBORE (2323)
AIR RIFLE (2342)
UP NEXT:
Army will host No. 2 TCU on Saturday, Nov.18 at Tronsure Marksmanship Center.
