Army Takes Second in President's Trophy Match

ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The No. 16 Army West Point rifle team placed second in the President's Trophy Match on Saturday morning.
Coach's Quotes:
"We shot well today," said head coach Web Wright. "This was our season high and we had several personal records and high performances.
"Our strong suit has always been our depth. All of our counting smallbore scores were strong. We need to work on our air gun when we get back, but generally it's all coming together."

AGGREGATE (4656)
- The Black Knights tallied an aggregate score of 4656, taking second behind Air Force (4668).
- Freshman Kaitlyn Kutz led the squad with an aggregate score of 1167.
- She was followed by juniors Payne Nunn (1163) and Nathan Brewer (1162), both of whom landed in the top-10 individuals for the match.
SMALLBORE (2293)
- Senior Mike Garner led the squad by recording a personal best in smallbore with a score of 589.
- Garner was followed by Kutz and Nunn, who both scored a 577.
- Freshman Clayton Hanson scored 575 in the discipline, followed by junior Nick Kanellis who also recorded a personal best with a score of 574.
AIR RIFLE (2337)
- Kutz led the Black Knights for the fifth match in a row in the air rifle discipline with a score of 590.
- Brewer was close behind shooting 589.
- Nunn followed with a score of 586, while Hanson closed the scoring squad, shooting 584.
