Wrestling to Host Navy on Senior Day

WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Army West Point wrestling team will close out its regular season with the annual Star Match against Navy in the 17th competition of the 2016-17 Star Series presented by USAA at Christl Arena on Sunday at 2 p.m.
Prior to the dual, the Black Knights will honor seniors Christian Doyle, David Farr, Samson Imonode, Lincoln Mallinger, Mark Marchetti, Tony Risaliti, Dalton Shoop, Trevor Smith and team co-captains Logan Everett and Russ Parsons for their efforts and contributions to the program over the past four years.

ARMY (6-5, 4-3 EIWA)
• This will be the 61st meeting between the two service academies.
• The Black Knights recently saw their five-match winning streak come to an end on Feb. 10 on the road against No. 14 Lehigh.
• These two teams last met at Christl Arena in 2015 when Army snapped a 17-match winless streak with a 21-10 victory.
• Junior Jack Wedholm leads the team with 23 wins on the season, while seniors Russ Parsons and Samson Imonode pace Army with eight dual wins apiece.
• Wedholm and Parsons are both tied for second on the team with 12 bonus-point wins on the year.
• Freshman Ben Harvey is the lone Cadet to start every dual this season, doing so at 174 pounds.
• In the last competition between the two programs, Army sent eight to the finals of the All-Academy Championships en route to its second-consecutive title.
